A4F Launches Asteasier demo unit at the University of Verona

We can announce another important achievement for the Asteasier project as A4F, our Portuguese project partner, launched a demo unit at the University of Verona, in Italy.

This marks a step forward in producing natural astaxanthin, the most powerful antioxidant in nature. The unit showcases a custom MHT-PBR with artificial lighting (MHT-PBR LumiLayer) equipped with process units and ancillary systems ensuring top efficiency in operation.

This demo unit (capacity of one cubic meter) is just one more step towards the Asteasier’s ultimate goal of providing a more efficient and cost-effective method to produce natural astaxanthin, paving the way for a sustainable future in aquaculture and beyond.

The demo unit was successfully installed at the Università degli Studi di Verona, which is the project and scientific coordinator of the project. The demo unit will provide the consortium with fundamental data in terms of natural astaxanthin productivity and cost-effectiveness of the process that was developed during the Asteasier project.
